Plumbing Diploma Level 2 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course gives you the opportunity to learn the basics of plumbing and develop some more specialist skills to prepare you for your career.

If you enjoy doing practical things and you want a skill that you can use in different ways, this could be perfect course for you.
To become a qualified plumber you will need to achieve a level 2 or 3 plumbing qualification, depending on your experience. You will need to follow technical drawings and plans, and have a careful and well-ordered approach to work. You will also need good customer care skills.

Course content

You will study

  • health and safety
  • hot and cold water supplies
  • second fixing
  • and the use of portable power tools.
Gloucestershire College recognises the importance of learners getting the Maths and English qualifications that they will need to be successful in their chosen career. For this reason all full-time learners who have not achieved Grade A*-C Maths or English Language will work towards these qualifications as part of their studies

Entry requirements

You will need to have 3 GCSE's at grade D or above or have successfully completed the Level 1 qualification with functional skills.

Future opportunities

On completion you can progress on to an apprenticeship, complete Level 3 Plumbing or seek employment in the industry.

Further information

You will need to wear suitable protective clothing and steel toe-capped boots or shoes.
