Course description

Why study Applied ICT?

Applied ICT will give you a functional use of Microsoft office and adobe software, which will support you in everyday life.

 

Course content

Exam Board: OCR

AS Units: GO40: Using ICT to Communicate

GO41: How Organisations use ICT

GO42: ICT Solutions for individuals and society

A2 Units:

GO48: Working to a Brief

GO50: Interactive Multimedia Products

GO53: Developing and creating websites

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at grades A*-C.

Knowledge in ICT at GCSE is an advantage but is not essential.

Assessment

GO41 is the only exam, all other units are internally moderated pieces of coursework. A pre-release is given to the students and worked on prior to the examination taking place.

Future opportunities

Where could Applied ICT take me?

Applied ICT had unlimited potential but specifically would aim toward computing or information systems. However ICT is used across all careers.
