Course description

The provision of recreational, sport and fitness facilities is a key element in the drive to improve the active lifestyles of individuals across the whole of the population.

Course content

You will study the following:

National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Diploma in Personal Training Level 3
Technical Certificate Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training
Level 3 Certificate in Exercise Referral forSpecific Controlled Conditions
Functional Skills: English Level 2, Mathematics Level 2

Entry requirements

There are no set entry requirements to do an apprenticeship, however access to an apprenticeship is very competitive. You need to be living in England and not in full-time education. Good GCSE grades, particularly in English and Maths, will help you with the course requirements. You also need to be committed to your training, and be reliable.

Future opportunities

Progression opportunities
You could gain further qualifications in Higher Education after you have achieved the Advanced Apprenticeship such as a Foundation Degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Science.

Career opportunities
After you have achieved the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sport some of the possible career options would be to become a Personal Trainer or you could look into working for a multi-national company or become self-employed.
