AS/A LEVEL - HISTORY at St Joseph's Catholic High School

Course description

2 Units are studied of which 25% must be British History.
As a department we have decided to consolidate learning from the History the
students would have studied at KS3 and KS4 without repeating work already done.
As such we have devised a syllabus that covers the transformation in Russian
History from Autocracy to Dictatorship looking at the years 1881-1953 and then
investigating the theme of Reform we look at the Suffragette movement and the
changing role of Women in Britain from 1860-1930
For the A2 programme of study we will be looking at American history and the
creation of the modern American super power we then consolidate the idea of
change and reform in Britain by studying Irish History and the story of Anglo-Irish
relations up to Independence in 1922.
