Course description

The Creative Media Production Diploma gives you a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an exciting media field - television and film production.

The BTEC is designed to give you the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to the media industries in an applied learning context.

You will learn all the processes behind television and film making.  From research and planning, to camerawork and editing, you will, with a team, become a production company.


Course content

Units across the two years of study include:

Pre-production techniques, single camera techniques and Film and Video editing techniques.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's at Grade 4 or above.  (English at 5).


A series of assignments and an examination.  The assignments vary from typed reports to group presentations.  Each assignment brief reflects an industry requirement.

Financial information


Future opportunities

Former BTEC students have gone on to study television and film, radio, sound recording, and print based media and interactive media at university.  Alumni include junior producers for the BBC and lighting designers at the 02 Academy in Leeds.  The hands on experience will also give you an extremely employable edge.
