Plastering Level 1 Diploma at Amersham and Wycombe College

Course description

The Level 1 Diploma in Plastering is designed to prepare people to enter the industry in their chosen craft. It has been specifically developed for delivery in a training environment using simulated conditions. It gives a good grounding for those not in the trade.

Course content

You will learn how to:
Work safely in the industry
improve your Maths & English skills
Prepare background surfaces and mix plastering materials
Applying scratch coats to internal backgrounds
Fixing sheet materials
Applying floating coats to wall
Applying setting coats to wall

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.


Completion will be by:
Achievement of each unit and practical assessment
Completion of a portfolio of work
Synoptic practical assignment set by City & Guilds
Online test
Attendance rate min 90%

Financial information

Learners will need to supply safety footwear and clothing. Drawing equipment, calculator and stationery (folders etc.) are necessary.

Future opportunities

Successful learners can progress on to the Plastering Level 2 Diploma.
