Course description

The BTEC National Extended Certificate in ICT offers students a more in depth look at ICT in the modern workplace, and gives an insight into its role in specialist careers. This is equivalent to 1 A Level and can be studied alongside other qualifications.

You can use this course as a stepping stone to an ICT related course at university. ICT is such a diverse subject that there are almost a limitless number of jobs you can go in to. You will also learns skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, organisation, report writing, retrieval of information and numeracy.

This course can be used as a stepping stone to an ICT related course at University.  ICT is such a diverse subject that there are almost a limitless number of jobs you can go in to.  Some of the common ones include programmer, games designer, hardware designer, technician and network manager.

You will also learn skills such as teamwork and leadership, communication, organisation, report writing, retrieval of information and numeracy.  This could help you get in to career areas such as management, sales, human resources and education.
