Health and Social Care Cambridge Technicals level 3 at Burnside Business and Enterprise College

Course description

In sixth Form we offer Level 3 Cambridge Technical in Health & Social Care. This is a single or double option depending which suits the students’ needs better. We are also looking into a level 3 child care qualification.

Course content

There is a heavy emphasis on practical learning with role plays and demonstrations playing a key role in assessment. In sixth form we run a residential field trip to allow our students to experience a wide range of learning environments and to provide opportunities to work as part of a team which all vocational careers require.

Entry requirements

The general entry requirement is 5 A* - C full GCSE/BTEC courses, including English Language and Mathematics at grade C or higher.  

BTEC qualifications will only count as 1 GCSE. If more than 1 BTEC (level 2) is studied, only the best will count towards the overall points score.  GCSE short courses will not be counted.

Future opportunities

Many students leave to go onto university to study courses such as Midwifery, Nursing, Social Work, Event Management, Tourism Consultancy and many more.
