Bricklaying Level 3 Apprenticeship at City College Plymouth

Course description

The Construction sector is on the grow in the UK, so there's no better time to start your career in this exciting and dynamic industry! If you don't mind heavy lifting, taking orders and working at height, then the rewards are there if you're willing to work hard. Whether you're following technical drawings or building your own designs, a career in bricklaying can help you build your own future. The Advanced Apprenticeship covers all the relevant aspects and current issues, and we will give you all the help you need to study and practise. You will focus on what you need to know to be able to think and plan more effectively before you take on the demands of your more senior or supervisory role. 

Course content

The course content will include: NVQ Level 3 in Trowel Occupations Functional skills: maths level 2 and English level 2 Technical certificate: Diploma Level 3. Employment Responsibilites and Rights (ERR) programme of study and abrasive wheels training course. PLTS - Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, independent enquiry, creative thinking, reflective learning, team working, self management and effective participation. 

Entry requirements

Entry is by an initial assessment at the Work-based Learning Department. 


Assessment is continuous, both on and off the job.

Successful completion will greatly enhance employment opportunities and progression.
