Students are given the choice of studying two modules from Philosophy of Religion, Islam or Ethics. This is then followed in A2 by modules that allow students to further develop their knowledge and make synoptic associations between the areas they have chosen to study. The specifications are designed to enable candidates to: • develop an interest in and enthusiasm for a rigorous study of religion;• treat the subject as an academic discipline by developing knowledge andunderstanding appropriate to a specialist study of religion;• use an enquiring, critical and empathetic approach to the study of religion. Students with AS or A2 level Religious Studies are trained to think critically, to analyse, evaluate and communicate. These skills are in high demand by Higher Education and employers. Religious Studies is a desirable A level for all Arts courses in Higher Education, as well as courses in medicine or medical research.  Past students have taken a wide variety of degree courses including topics such as: Philosophy, English, History, Performing Arts, and Accountancy to name a few.  So the course is flexible and open to many exciting career opportunities.
