City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma for Cutting and Styling Technicians at Kingston College

Course description

This course aims to provide learners with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge required to gain employment as a senior stylist within the hairdressing or Barbering industry or progress onto further training. Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the skills and knowledge of health and safety and customer service, as well as practical skills such as advanced cutting and colouring.

Course content

The course offers the opportunity to gain advanced hairdressing and barbering techniques to help with career progression. Units studied include consultations, creative cutting, colouring & styling, colour correction and cutting men’s hair. Work experience is a requirement of this course.

Entry requirements

Level 2 in Hairdressing, GCSE in either English or Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.

A successful interview, satisfactory reference and diagnostic screening are also required.

Future opportunities

Level 4 HNC Hair & Beauty Management providing the entry requirements are met or employment within a salon or the hairdressing industry.
