Course description

This course is designed for students who work in or wish to pursue a career in hairdressing as a senior stylist. You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide hairdressing services for all hair types.

Course content

You will learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide hairdressing services for all hair types.

You will learn:

• Cutting women’s hair to create a variety of looks

• Styling and dress up hair using various techniques

• Bridal hairstyling

• Colouring hair

• Hair colour correction

• Monitoring and maintaining salon health and safety practice

• Promoting and selling products and services to clients

• Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues

The purchase of a hairdressing kit is essential for this course. Personal appearance must reflect industry standards.

Entry requirements

A level 2 hairdressing qualification and appropriate English and maths. You should demonstrate an interest, knowledge or formerly acquired skills in hairdressing and wish to further your career in hairdressing.

Assessment

Observations of practical ability, photographs of work, treatment plans, written assignments, external tests, online learning and portfolio completion.

Financial information

As a full time student you should not need to pay any course or examination fees (under 19).

There may be a cost for equipment, educational visits, printing etc.
