General Studies A2 at King David High School

Course description

A Level General Studies offers students the opportunity to broaden their post-16 education by reinforcing and enhancing both subjects studied at GCSE Level and those being followed at AS/A level. The qualification encourages thinking across cultural, scientific and social domains. The course is designed to complemenet other studies and is useful preparation for higher education, work and life in general.

Through following the specification students will develop their:
Thinking and analytical skills
Capacity to construct arguments and draw conclusions
Facility to deal with broad considerations and subject matter
Communication and presentation skills
Ability to work both independently and with others.

Entry requirements

GCSE English language (C) and GCSE Mathematics (C).

Assessment

Culture and society - 120 minute examination (25% of A2 Level)

Science and society - 120 minute examination (25% of A2 Level)
