BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business at Burton and South Derbyshire College

Course description

This Level 2 Diploma provides an excellent introduction to the world of Business. The course comprises of nine specialised units, covering various aspects of the Business world, including Customer Service, Marketing and Starting a Small Business. Functional Skills and Work Skills are also incorporated into the course through lively involvement in business projects.

Entry requirements

• Minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade D or above; or • Pass at NVQ Level 1; or • Pass at BTEC Introductory Diploma (or equivalent) A reference from previous Course Leaders or School Head of Year will be requested and applications are subject to interview. Learners attending interview must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or responsible adult and will be required to successfully complete a range of appropriate tasks.

Future opportunities

Completion of the course at Merit or Distinction Level allows progression onto the Extended Diploma in Business, subject to other entry requirements and interview.Assessment is by internally set and marked coursework for all units. Learners will complete reports, participate in presentations and role-play assessments, as well as undertaking open-book, ‘live assignments’.

There may also be an opportunity to retake GCSE Maths or English where learners achieved a D grade in their first attempt.
