Sport NCFE Level 2 Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

Why do you enjoy sport? Is sport always fun and enjoyable? This course encompasses a variety of practical and theoretical sessions. We give you the opportunity to learn new skills and put them into action. It is about learning in a fun and enjoyable environment, experiencing lessons not only in the classroom, but in the local surrounds and facilities. 

Course content

There are 7 units to be completed in order to achieve the full Diploma. You will cover a range of topics and subjects which will include: Psychology, Sports Injuries and Practical Sport. There will be opportunities to cover other additional courses whilst on this programme. You will have to run an expedition event and look in detail at injuries. If you are aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme consisting of your main qualification, English and maths, enterprise and enrichment. 

Both in the classroom and through practical sessions. The timetable revolves around practical sessions endeavoring to provide a practical session on each taught day. 

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs grade A - C. English and/or Mathematics are desirable - especially if students wish to progress onto the Level 3 90 Credit Sport. 


There will be a combination of practical and theory work which will be used as evidence to contribute to a portfolio. The portfolio of work produced will be graded at either Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Future opportunities

Successful achievement can lead to progression onto the Edexcel 90 Credit Diploma in Sport or Certificate in Football Studies or Active IQ Fitness Instructor Level 2. Career opportunities in Sport and Leisure - Trainee Instructor in Leisure Centre
