 In the Level 1 Award in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector Learners must achieve 4 credits from the mandatory units and 3 credits from the optional units. (See Course Content)

The Rules of combination – There are two mandatory units, you then chose one unit from the optional units for the Entry level 3 Award.

Themed Face Painting

Shampoo and Conditioning

Styling Women’s Hair

Basic Make-up Application

Salon reception duties

Follow Health & Safety in the salon

Working with others in the hair and beauty sector

Create a Hair and Beauty image

Colour hair using temporary colour

The Art of Colouring Hair

Providing Basic Pedicure Treatment

Providing basic manicure treatment

Entry requirements


There are no formal qualifications needed as students are referred through school. 



 Assessment is carried out through practical assessment, with some theory.

Financial information


There is no financial costs to the student all fees are paid by the school students are enrolled at.

Future opportunities


On completion of the C&G Level 1 Award in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector the student will automatically move onto the Level 1 Certificate in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector.
