Humanities and Arts Access to HE Level 3 at Lincoln College

Course description

This course aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed for Higher Education, particularly those wishing to advance your knowledge in a way that is tailored to improve your confidence in lectures, seminars and discussion groups as-well as writing essays. This is an intensive course for students aged 19 and over, especially intended for those returning to education.
Completion of this course could allow you direct entry into a Degree or Higher Education, to study Social Work, Social Science, Journalism or other related degrees.
During this programme, you will study: Study Skills and Personal and Career Development – includes discussion, practice of writing skills, time management and presentation techniques; Tutorial – support and guidance service.
You will also have the option to study from the following subjects: History; Literature; Psychology and Sociology.

Entry requirements

You will need GCSEs to include Mathematics and English (minimum grade C) and be able to understand Science at GCSE level prior to enrolling on programme. You must also complete a diagnostic test.


Assessment is a combination of written assessments and assignments.
