Bricklaying Level 1 Certificate at Northumberland College

Course description

The purpose of this qualification is to:- - introduce learners to the construction industry - help learners to decide what area of the industry they would like to work in - develop learners skills and knowledge at this level - prepare learners for taking further qualifications to enable them to enter the industry

Course content

You will develop skills in relation to:- Constructing woodworking joints Fit architrave and skirting Fit ironmongery to an internal door Health and safety in construction trades Working and communicating effectively in construction trades

Entry requirements

You will need to have an interest in Carpentry/Joinery, but no formal qualifications are necessary.

Assessment

Your progress will be assessed by a range of methods including completion of Practical activities and completion of a Learner Workbook

Future opportunities

After completing the course and you would like to develop your skills and knowledge further to become a Carpenter/joiner qualified to a level1 Diploma Standard, you would enrol on our level 1 diploma programme.
