Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Stafford College
2 year course with accreditation for Level 3 90 Credit Diploma at the end of year 1.
This course is designed to prepare learners for appropriate direct employment in the vocational sector of travel & tourism and it is broadly equivalent to three GCE A Levels.
Some learners may wish to gain the qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a higher education foundation degree or other professional development programme.
Residential Visits and Day trips
Residential visits and day trips are an integral part of the course and learners will be expected to attend all college trips. There is a cost for these trips and residential visits of approximately £225 for year 1 and £550 for year 2. Learners may be eligible for help towards these costs via the learner support fund (see below)

English & Maths
We are committed to helping students improve their skills in English and maths. Students on a full-time course at College who missed out on GCSE qualifications at grades A-C in these subjects at school will attend additional classes and receive support to enhance their grades. Depending on individual ability, students will work towards GCSE, City & Guilds or Functional Skills awards to ensure that they have the qualifications needed to progress to university or employment.
Students should be 16 years of age and possess either 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above and have English or Mathematics at Grade C or functional skills equivalent at Level 2, or Level 2 Diploma in a related subject at Merit or Distinction grade.
All assessment for EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of specified outcomes. All units contributing to a programme carry either internal assessment. All units contain contextualised-grading criteria and will be individually graded as “Pass”, “Merit” or “Distinction”. To achieve a pass grade for the unit learners must meet the assessment criteria set out in the specifications.
The units in EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma qualifications all have a standard format which is designed to provide clear guidance on the requirements of the qualification for learners, assessors and those responsible for monitoring national standards.
