A-Level Mathematics at West Kent College

Course description

This course will suit you if you have both strong interest and ability in mathematics. This is a very challenging course and you will have to be highly motivated and capable of independent study in order to be successful. The course covers a mixture of pure and applied mathematics.

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4, including English and Grade A/7 or above in GCSE mathematics.

Assessment

Paper 1: Pure Maths - 2hr paper (33% weighting)
Paper 2: Pure Maths - 2hr paper (33% weighting)
Paper 3: Mechanics and statistics - 2hr paper (33% weighting)

Future opportunities

This is necessary preparation for university courses in the fields of mathematics, engineering, computer science, electronics, mathematical finance, sciences (all), and will be viewed favourably for all other courses. This course will also be looked on with high regard on any curriculum vitae.
