AS/A2 Level Mathematics at Cardinal Griffin Catholic High School - a Science College
The course is modular. Qualifications are earned through achievement in Pure Mathematics. Statistics and possibly Mechanics or Decision Mathematics. In addition to AS and A2, it might be possible to offer further maths to outstanding candidates, but it is important to register an interest in this at the earliest opportunity.
The course is modular in structure and is suitable for students who have gained at least a grade B at GCSE. Qualification is through achievement in both Pure Mathematics and Statistics. Students study three units at AS and a further three if they decide to complete the full A Level.
All modules are equally weighted and each is assessed through a one and a half hour paper. There is no coursework. However, work is monitored throughout the course and sound academic progress, coupled with a positive attitude to work is demanded at all times.
It may be possible to offer Further Mathematics to outstanding candidates. If you are interested, you must report your intent at the earliest opportunity
Minimum requirement to study Maths at AS/A2 is grade B at GCSE (an A would be preferred).
