Sport Level 2 Diploma at Queen Mary's College

Course description

This is a one-year full-time programme (equivalent to 4 GCSEs at A*-C) that covers a range of practical and theoretical aspects of sport. It provides students with a solid basis for study at level three and enables them to progress directly onto the BTEC Level 3 Sport, Development, Coaching and Fitness/ Sport and Exercise Science subject to successful completion. Students may also opt to study a Sports based enrichment courses such as Community Sports Leaders Award or Level 1 Fitness and Physical Activity.


Students will complete 8 units to include: Fitness Testing and Training; Practical Sport; Anatomy and Physiology for Sport; Injury in Sport; Planning and Leading Sports Activities; Development of Personal Fitness; Exercise and Fitness Instruction; Effects of Exercise on the Body Systems.

Assessment

100% coursework, including written and practical assignments. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction, the highest grade on the Diploma being D*.
