Accounting AAT (Diploma) at New College Swindon

Course description

Students who have successfully completed the AAT Certificate in Accounting, and wish to pursue their vocational accounting studies.

Course content

You will study the following 6 topics:

  • Accounts preparation
  • Prepare final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Costs and revenues
  • Indirect tax
  • Professional ethics
  • Spreadsheet software

The work will be mainly teacher directed, and you will have the opportunity to complete lots of practice activities.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of the AAT Certificate in Accounting and 5 GCSE’s – grade A* - C (including Maths and English Language)


You will be assessed by 4 computer-based exams and 2 computer-based projects.  This course will expect you to put in considerable additional study outside of class in order to keep up with the course.  Each examination requires you to achieve at least 70%.
