What will I study?
You will study and develop skills in performing, stage presence, movement and voice skills, through various scripted and improvised performances. You will also learn about working in the industry and developing professional practices. Although the emphasis is on practical assignments, you will need to complete written assessments in the form of evaluative log books and rehearsal diaries and contextual and business studies.
You will be working on industry projects where some students will engage with external clients and companies, developing your experience in the world of work and performance.
Four GCSEs at grade D or above or equivalent Level 1 qualification with Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1 and a good reference. If you do not already have qualifications in English and Maths you will need to do a short test. You will need to demonstrate a keen interest in performing and attend an interview and audition.
Although the emphasis is on practical assignments, you will need to complete written assessments in the form of evaluative log books and rehearsal diaries and contextual and business studies. The qualification is gained through continuous assessment of both practical and written work.
