Hairdressing for Colour Technicians Level 3 Diploma at Lincoln College

Course description

This programme will provide you with a clear understanding of Hairdressing services. You will explore a variety of advanced current fashion techniques in the ever changing world of Hairdressing. Your creativity and imagination skills will be stretched and challenged for you to produce work that can also be used on the catwalk and in photo shoots. In addition to this you will be given the opportunity to attend training with manufacturers, showcase your skills in local and national competitions and work on a number of paying clients.
Completion from this course may allow you to progress onto a Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management or into employment such as teaching or assessing, or working on health farms and cruise liners.
During the course, you will study the following units: Monitoring and Maintaining Health and Safety Practices; Promoting Additional Products or Services to Clients; Providing Hairdressing Consultation Services; Creatively Cutting Hair Using a Combination of Techniques; Colouring Hair Using a Variety of Techniques; Providing Colour Correction Services; Creatively Styling and Dressing Hair; Bridal Hair and Displaying Stock to Promote Sales in a Salon.


Entry requirements

You will need to hold a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing (VRQ or NVQ) qualification already, have 90% attendance record and a satisfactory reference for your existing tutor.


Assessment is a combination of theory and practical assessments with online or written tests throughout the year.
