Animal Management BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Guildford College

Course description

The programme provides a practical and theoretical environment to develop the skills required in a wide variety of animal management occupations. It also provides an opportunity to begin specialising in aspects of the industry.

  • Advance animal nutrition
  • Optional units could include; grooming, nursing, conservation and ecology, zoo, aquatics, exotics, wildlife rehabilitation or retail.

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed a 90 credit Level 3 Diploma prior to this programme


Written assignments and practical skills tests.

Future opportunities

You could go onto to study a degree level programme at the College or gain employment in the animal industry.


Further information

You must wear safety footwear and a Merrist Wood sweatshirt and polo shirt. 

All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
