Creative Media Production Level 3 Extended Diploma at Furness College

Course description

Looking to break into the fast-paced and highly competitive world of the media? Want to learn how to write scripts, film, edit, create special fx and more? Taught in our brand new state of the art facilities a creative media production course at Furness College will help get you there.

Course content

Units studied include: pre-production techniques for the creative media industry, communication skills for the creative media industry, research techniques for the creative media industry, understanding the creative media sector, film & video techniques, audio production processes & techniques, understanding video technology, single camera action, soundtrack for the moving image, introduction to music technology, understanding the television & film industry, multi camera techniques, music video and stop motion animation production, music based programming and recording and digital video production for interactive media.

Every full-time course will include a real experience of work.

Maths and English form part of this course and will be assessed at the relevant levels.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, (including English and maths) or other equivalent qualifications. You will be required to attend an interview.

Assessment

Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and is supported by practical assignments tasks and projects. There are no exams.

Financial information

There are no specific extra costs, just stationery for study.

Future opportunities

The course also offers a route into the creative industries, such as film producer, camera work, editing, graphical artist etc. You can also progress directly onto a creative arts or media degree at Furness College or other universities to further develop your skills. Progression is based on aptitude and a successful interview.
