Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children`s and Young People`s Settings Certificate Level 1 at Bradford College
This qualification will develop your knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children and Young People's sectors. It is aimed at those who wish to develop an understanding of these settings before deciding whether working in the sector is appropriate.
The qualification will allow you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sectors and will provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills and progression to higher qualifications.
You will attend College for three or four days per week and will be required to attend a two week pla
Units studied include:
- Level 1 Award in Children and Young People's Settings
- Level 1 Certificate in Personal and Social development
- Level 1 Award in Employability Skills.
As part of the course you will learn about service provision and the principles and values within early years.
A minimum of GCSE English and mathematics at Grade F/1.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and interview will be required.
Each Unit is assessed through a unit assignment. Tasks within these assignments vary and you will be assessed using methods such as: written work, posters, verbal questioning and portfolio building.
You will develop employability skills with sessions covering job applications, CV and interview skills and look at personal social development with an emphasis on self-reflection.
On completion of the course you will be in a position to progress to a Level 2 course such as:
- Introduction to Early Years and Education
- Certificate in Early Years and Primary Settings
- Health and Social Care
- An apprenticeship.
