AS - Psychology at Chase Terrace Technology College

Course description

This means by the end of the course students will have an understanding of how humans learn, why we love one another, why a baby loves its mother. What the processes of memory or forgetting are, why we get stressed, why people can hurt one another, how we treat the mentally unwell and why we obey orders and follow fashions to list but a few. Psychology is an academic subject that has had a successful history at Chase Terrace, we pride ourselves on understanding how our students think and learn. Only 75% of the population has the brain capacity to read the opening paragraph of this page. Less than 1% of the population has the understanding of how the mind works to be able to explain why we can read the paragraph. Join the 1% - learn Psychology.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to complement other advanced level courses such as a science or to prepare for the A2 part of an Advanced GCE in Psychology, which could lead you onto higher education to study Psychology or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Psychology and people such as a Counsellor, Nurse or Psychologist. You could also go straight into a job as the AS GCE is a recognised qualification that will help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
