Course description

This course is for anyone developing a career in the motor industry. The Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence will help you to demonstrate your skills on the job, in your own workplace.

The structure and assessment strategy has been produced by the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Candidates cover areas such as routine vehicle maintenance, removal and replacement of vehicle units and components and diagnosis and rectification of vehicle faults.

Assessment

Each learner will be assigned an assessor who will provide guidance and support throughout the training.

Assessment is carried out in the workplace, where you will use an electronic portfolio system to gather evidence and receive feedback and targets from your assessor throughout your course.

Assessment will consist of a range of methods, including:
• Oral and Written Questions and Answers
• Personal Discussion/Voice Recording
• Observation through learner activities in the workplace
• Video
• Photograph
• Witness Testimony
