Health and Social Care Cambridge Technical Level 3 at North Bromsgrove High School

Course description

The course studies a range of units relating to different aspects of health, social care and early years provision. It combines academic study with practical experience; an ideal choice if you’re hoping to pursue a career in health, early years’ education or social work. The research, evaluation and problemsolving skills you will develop will be valuable preparation for higher education courses.

Course content

Over the two years’ learners will study the following mandatory units:

Building Positive relationships in health and social care

In this unit we will look at how important it is to have good communication skills to enable us as practitioners to form professional relationships with our clients.

Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care

We all have rights and this unit will allow us to explore the rights of us as future practitioners and our client’s rights to quality care.

Health, safety and security in health and social care

We will explore the need for safeguarding in health and social care and how to protect the most vulnerable people in our society.

Anatomy and physiology for health and social care

In this unit we will focus on how the body works, the key systems within our bodies and what happens if they aren’t functioning as they should be. We will then look at which services and types of health and social care will support clients with those dysfunctions to ensure their needs are met.
