Graphic Products A-Level at John Port School

Course description

Graphic Products has two clearly defined pathways, either ‘conceptual design’ or ‘the built environment’.

Course content

Conceptual design incorporates a wide range of 3D products with associated graphics, for example:

  • packaging design
  • product/industrial design
  • point of sale display

The built environment focuses on the humankind surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, for example:

  • architecture
  • interior design
  • exhibition design
  • theatre sets
  • garden design

Entry requirements

In addition to the general entry requirement for the Sixth Form, the minimum requirement for the AS course is a GCSE grade C from a Design and Technology subject (preferably Graphic Products). Students to have also completed the transition project up to the manufacture planning which will be integral to the first part of the course.
