Course description

Course aims:

  • To develop a critical understanding of the influences on the processes and products of design and technological activity from a historical perspective, and in a current practice.
  • To develop and sustain individual innovation, creativity and design and technology capability, to recognise constraints and to produce high quality products.
  • To apply essential knowledge of understanding and skills of design production processes to a range of technological activities and develop an understanding of industrial practices.
  • To use information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance design and technological capability.

Entry requirements

Grade C or above in GCSE Textiles.
Portfolio entry may be possible for non-GCSE students by arrangement.
