Social Media Advanced Apprenticeship at Bridgwater College

Course description

Social media is one of the fastest growing advertising and marketing tools that businesses have at their disposal. A Social Media Apprenticeship is an exciting new opportunity for learners to design a new website, advert or campaign and get involved in real life digital media projects. The apprenticeship will help students to develop skills in social media and how to best utilise these skills to grow the online presence of the company. The apprenticeship will allows learners to help build a business’ online brand and to build a customer base.

Course content

A sample of units, include:

  • Use Digital and Social Media in Marketing Campaigns
  • Imaging Software
  • Website Software
  • Principles of Social Media within a Business
  • Principles of Keywords and Optimisation
  • Social Networking Management for a Business
  • Principles of Mobile Social Media for a Business

Entry requirements

  • Five GCSEs in the A* - C range or an appropriate level 2 qualification
  • The offer of an apprenticeship is given after a successful interview and a suitable employer placement has been found
  • A keen interest in IT and Social Media and a willingness to learn new skills that will make you an asset to your employer

  • Written coursework 
  • Portfolio

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Social Media students can progress up on to a range of Higher Apprenticeships including:

  • Higher Apprenticeship in Social Media and Digital Marketing
  • Higher Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals.

This qualification can lead to securing a job in a wide range of roles, such as:
