Course description

Is this course for me?
This course is for you if you want to develop you. This course is about you taking responsibility and completing the relevant amount of hours and completing the practice/assessed expedition. Most students will complete the Bronze Award, this can be completed in 1 academic year.

 

Course content

What will I learn?
You will learn a variety of different skills including practical skills like map reading, navigation skills, cooking, putting a tent up, working as a team. This is alongside your commitment on learning a new skill for 1 hour every week, 1 physical activity for 1 hour a week and 1 hour of volunteering a week.

Entry requirements

You will have a keen interest in the Arts, depending on whether you are looking to complete Bronze/Silver or Gold Award the course could last from 12 months to 2 years.

Future opportunities

The Duke of Edinburgh award is a highly regarded award amongst businesses and employers. By doing this course you are demonstrating a high level of independence and responsibility. They know how hard you have to work to achieve this award. If completing the Bronze award, it could lead to the Silver Award. If completing the Silver award, it could lead to the Gold Award.
