Performing Ats (Acting) Level 2 at North Kent College

Course description

The level 2 Acting Course at The Miskin Theatre North Kent College gives you the opportunity to be an actor in a working, producing Theatre Company. It provides a professional training in a theatre, with state of the art facilities. 
The Miskin is run by experienced industry professionals who will work with you to produce ground breaking, exciting theatre, and develop your skills and confidence to support you in the craft of acting. 

The Miskin will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking performer ready to take your first steps into the industry. You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including team work, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to meet targets. 

The Level 2 course is the first stepping stone to a successful future as an actor. It will help you gain the confidence, skills and the academic levels you need to achieve in order to progress on to the Level 3 Acting UAL Diploma in Performing Arts. 

This Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and maths skills as required. You will be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results. 

All assignments are modelled on professional practice, learners will have the opportunity to participate in work experience including Front of House.

Entry requirements

You will be required to attend an audition and interview where you will perform a monologue of your choice and will be asked to explain your commitment to acting and performing. You will also take part in a practical drama workshop on the day.


4 GCSE's grade E (New graded GCSE 2) and above or Performing Arts Level 2 equivalent.

Assessment

All assessment is through professionally relevant assignments. These are primarily practical units with supporting written work and documentation.

16-18 - free
19+ - £1650

Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £175

Other Costs (payable by all students): £75 Annual Theatre Pass

Future opportunities

Most learners will progress on to the Level 3 Acting UAL Diploma in Performing Arts. Or you can make new choices using all the skills you have developed at The Miskin Theatre.
