Roofing, Slating and Tiling Apprenticeship Level 2 at CDC
This training is ideal for an apprentice looking to take the first steps towards a becoming a qualified Roofer / Slater / Tiler working on pitched roofs.
Working on a construction site or in commercial or domestic premises, applying slates or tiles to roofs on new builds or repairing older property roofs to given specifications.
The apprentice would work alongside an experienced craftsman in addition to attending The Construction Design Centre 1 day per week where training is provided to enhance the skills learned on site.
All learning done in the workplace with the exception of functional skills which, if required, is done through timetabled sessions within our training centres.
The framework is made up of mandatory and optional units which include;
- Health and Safety
- Understanding Information
- Understanding Technologies
- Install Single Lap Variable Gauge
- Install Plain Tile
- Install Regular Roof Slate
- Strip Reclaim Pitched Covering
- Install Roofing Back Grounds
- Install Pre-Formed Flashings
Maths and English grade D/5+ or above
The qualification is assessed in two ways;
- Multiple choice question paper, covering knowledge outcomes.
- Practical assignment, covering performance outcomes.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship can lead to continued experience in the industry where the opportunity to work towards the level 3 apprenticeship qualification is highly likely.
