Creative Media (Print Media) BTEC Level 3 at Franklin College

Course description

Year 1 A BTEC in Creative Print Media will appeal to you if you want to find out about the working practices involved in professional media production. You will take part in planning, researching and creating media and will build a portfolio of work. You will have access to specialist software to develop your skills. The world of print is vast incorporating; magazines, newspapers, web content and promotional marketing. In your first year you will work on a wide range of projects including writing copy for different styles of magazines and newspapers, producing layouts and photography and learning about the legal and ethical practices of journalism. Year 2 In your second year you will build upon the skills and knowledge you have gained in year one. You will use equipment and software that media professional's use each day allowing you to confidently develop your own creative work. You will study digital graphic design, leaflet and booklet production and factual journalism.

Entry requirements

Five GCSE grades A*-C or equivalent to include English Language. A passion to take this subject is important; you will be required to work flexibly as part of a team and individually.
