Health & Social Care BTEC Intermediate Diploma Level 2 at Fareham College

Course description

This exciting and varied course is designed for learners who are interested in working in the rewarding occupations which provide care for others.

This practical course will give you a taste of the different types of health and care settings. You will develop skills through activities, simulation, problem solving assignments and supervised work experience placements.

Course content

Throughout the course you will learn:

  • How to communicate effectively

  • How to respect and value service users

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade D or above including English and Maths.


You will be assessed through coursework and exams.

Financial information

A uniform (fleece and polo shirt) will need to be purchased. Full details will be provided in your interview.

Future opportunities

You can progress on to the BTEC Level 3 Health Studies or BTEC Level 3 Childcare. To progress a GCSE at grade C or above in English and Maths is essential.

Alternatively, you could become an Apprentice or start your working career.


Further information

For our Level 2 course (or above) you will be required to take a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check prior to commencing your work placement. There is no charge for this service.
