Religious Studies A/S at Samuel Lister Academy

Course description

Religious Studies in a traditional highly respected academic discipline, recognised as a good A Level qualification by Universities and therefore is a good progression route to higher education.

Course content

AS - Foundations and investigations - Philosophy of Religion and Islam.

  • Nature of pre-Islamic Arabia and the impact of Muhammad (P.b.u.h.)
  • The Six Beliefs and Five Pillars
  • The Cosmological and design argumets for Gods existence.
  • The problem of evil and suffering
  • Miracles.

Entry requirements

A 'B' grade or above in GCSE RE and English.

Assessment

Written assignments and exams.

Further information
