Government and Politics at Outwood Academy Valley
Government and Politics is a traditional, academic and respected A Level. Students will cover a course which will be challenging and stimulating, covering new and exciting subject knowledge. Students will be expected and encourage to discuss and think about concepts and ideas which they will not have encountered before.
Students will examine the relationship between people and politics, through developing an understanding of the work of Parliament, the role of political parties and pressure groups, the nature of power, the constitution, law and decision making, elections and voting. A2 students will also learn about US Politics.
In order to be successful you need to be properly prepared for this course. You will need to be prepared to read extensively and be able to write about topic and issues in depth.
As a guide, the minimum entry requirement is 5A*-C grades at GCSE or equivalent.
