Children’s Care, Learning & Development BTEC Level 2 First Certificate at Chelmsford College

Course description

This course is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge needed when working with young children. The course covers a wide range of topics which include: pattern of child development, promoting children's development through play, promoting children's positive behaviour and principles of early years practice.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements:

English Language and maths GCSE at grade D or above.

 

Specific Entry Requirements:

You must also hold a clear fully enhanced DBS check.

Assessment

You will be assessed using a range of methods both in the classroom with assignments and in workplace settings.

Future opportunities

Learners would be able to enter employment in job roles such as assistant pre -school worker, assistant in children's centres, assistant in day nurseries or nursery schools or progress to Level 3 provision.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre, Tutorial Centre, a Copyshop and Refectory. Situated on the grounds of this campus are Dovedale Nursery and Dovedale Sports Centre.
