Children and Young People Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Bedford College
This Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship will allow you to develop the skills and knowledge required for working in a childcare setting with children aged 0-19 years.
The introductory units will give you an insight into how children develop and learn, while the choice of optional unites can be tailored to meet the vocational area you are working in. The course will combine the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge and understanding gained through a college course, and will take up to two years to complete. You will be required to attend College on a day-release basis every Friday, where you will study for functional skills and theory sessions, which will cover the underpinning knowledge for the vocational qualification.
You must be employed in a job role relevant to the qualification for a minimum of 30 hours per week. You must also have a Level 2 Child Care qualification and four GCSEs grade A*-C including English and Maths.
You must also be willing to undergo an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) check.
As the Apprenticeship progresses you will be assessed in a number of different ways, including practical demonstrations, observations in the workplace and exams for Functional Skills.
On successful completion of this Apprenticeship you can progress to study a relevant Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification and/or a Child & Family Studies Foundation Degree.
If you are not already employed in a relevant field we can help you find a placement.
