Course description

The AQA Photography A Level course Is designed to enable candidates to develop personal responses to techniques, Ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. The structure of the course enables students to focus on personal Interests and work to their strengths. The A Level Photography course will provide a strong foundation for further study of Photography and support study in Art and Design or subjects related to creativity in Higher Education.


Course content

AS Level
Students follow a structured course designed to explore materials, develop skills and build confidence. All coursework made during the course will be submitted as the Coursework portfolio. The Coursework Portfollo makes up SO% of the AS grade. The AS examination Is very similar to the GCSE examination, the paper offers a choice of five starting points linked to photography references. Candidates will have eight weeks for preparation and a five-hour examination which is used as a development day.

Entry requirements

Grade B in Art and Design or Photography.


The AS Exam makes up SO% of the AS grade.
