Psychology at The Hertfordshire and Essex High School and Science College

Course description

Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour and by applying scientific methods to the study of people, we attempt to answer such questions as “Why are attachments formed?”, “How does our memory work?”, “Why do we obey authority?” and “What causes aggression?”

The course focuses on applying knowledge and understanding and developing students’ skills of analysis, evaluation and critical thinking.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade B in English. If the subject has been studied previously, GCSE grade B in Psychology is also required. A2 Level involves some statistics and students will need to possess or develop basic skills of data presentation and interpretation.
