Further Mathematics A Level at Chilwell School

Course description

Mathematics provides a secure foundation for many careers. Many popular professional careers such as Accountancy, Banking, Surveying, Engineering and Computing require an A level in Mathematics. This subject will also train your mind to develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills that are necessary within all higher education or vocational settings.

In both Mathematics courses there are three Pure modules which will extend your knowledge and understanding of the basic tools of mathematics such as algebra, geometry and calculus. The three applied modules will give you the opportunity to use your mathematical skills in a range of ‘real’ contextual settings as we study statistics, mechanics and decision mathematics.
