Working in the Care Sector Level 1 at Craven College

Course description

Gain a valuable introduction into the Care sector and build up the basic knowledge and skills needed for the  industry with this Level 1 Certificate.

Based at the Aireville Campus in Skipton, you will build on your existing skills as well as being introduced to Health and Social Care and the Childcare industry. You will complete 13 modules which will give you a fundamental understanding of what is involved in Childcare. You will be assessed through a variety of methods including small group presentations, assignments, projects and work-based assignments. You will  attend work experience such as nursery and school placements which will be in the form of one week placements in every term, all arranged by Craven College, whilst completing your Level 1 Certificate in Occupational Studies for the Workplace qualification.

  • Working in a Team
  • Improving own Learning and Performance
  • Undertaking an Enterprise Project

Entry requirements

  • 4 GCSEs 9-1 (A*-G) including English & Maths
  • Clear (DBS) Disclosure & Barring Service check
