Course description

The course builds on the broad GCSE by specialising in particular turning points in British, European and World History. It focuses not merely on dramatic political events, but on the arts, culture and human achievement more widely.

Course Structure

AS

Unit 1 Elizabeth I 50% 1 hour 30 min exam

Unit 2 The Italian Renaissance 1420-1550 50% 1 hour 30 min exam

A2

Unit 3 Changing Views of the Crusades 60% 3 hour Controlled Assessment

Unit 4 Personal Study on any topic 40% Coursework.

Entry requirements

B grade in GCSE History. B grade in English/English Language if History GCSE not taken.
