Course description

This course extends your knowledge of topics studied in A2 Mathmatics if you want to devlop your mathmatical ability and is a prefered subject for degrees in Mathmatics, Physics and Engineering.You will study:2 x 2 matricesSummationProof of seriesComplex numbers and parabolas1st and 2nd differential equationsFurther complex numbersModulus of graphical functionsApproximations using Taylors and Maclaurin’s seriesProjectile motionCentre of gravityMomentumEnergy and momentsThis course is 100% exam based.

Entry requirements

APS 44 and 5 GCSEs at grades C or above, including English atgrades C/5 or above, and science and maths at grades B/6 or above.

Assessment

This is a linear subject which means they are examined entirely at the end of year two, although in some cases you will be entered for the AS exam at the end of year one. You may want to consider choosing a mixture of linear and non-linear (modular) subjects.
