AS Units Investigating people at work: How business aims to influence organisational operation and how objectives of the business guide the people who work in the organisation. This unit also look at organisational structure of a business and the functional areas. Investigating business: Explores the world of business, how businesses manage and review their finances and other resources, how businesses study and forecast their performance. Explores how important knowledge of financial management is for the effective planning and evaluation of a business. Investigating marketing: Learn how successful businesses need effective marketing to achieve their business objectives. This will include determining the needs and wants of target markets and delivering the desired goods or services more effectively and efficiently than its competitors. A2 Units Business development: The unit looks at how a small business can be established in response to the need for change, including the reasons for, processes and the likely outcomes of the decisions taken. This unit is the synoptic unit in the qualification. It is designed to link concepts, skills, knowledge and understanding across the entire qualification. Managing and developing people: This unit looks at the management, training, development and motivation of individuals within organisations. Marketing Decisions: This unit will provide you with the basis for effective decision making and planning in the marketing process. You will learn about the type of decisions that have been made to bring a product to market. You will identify these decisions and how they contribute to the overall marketing. Assessment AS level module 1 is external exam and modules 2 and 3 are internal exams.
